Data management module

Radiological data from all modalities are imported in DICOM format. Data tags can be inspected and data can be regrouped using patient, exam, modality information.

Multiplanar reformation module

The slices are assembled in a 3D medical volume. The medical volume can be explored with orthogonal section planes in axial, sagital and coronal directions. 

Segmentation module

Targeted organs can be separated from the volume using segmentation. Four segmentation algorithms are implemented:

• Region growing connected threshold
• Region growing confidence connected
• Watershed
• Level set

Several models can be defined. Model transparency and color can be selected by user. Each model or all models can be exported in one of the formats:

• STL format
• VRLM format
• ATLAS mesh format
• FEMAP Neutral mesh format
• MSC.NASTRAN mesh format

Virtual endoscopy module

The virtual endoscopy module of insightViewer uses manual and automatic path  definition - for tubular organs -  and provides easy to use functions for automatic navigation through target organ.
